A Day out on the Solent - Saturday 18 September

PRESS RELEASE - NEW PRESIDENT FOR THE LOCAL LAW SOCIETY - 26 APRIL 2010

Mr Tim O'Sullivan, a Solicitor with the Crown Prosecution Service, was elected President for 12 months at the AGM of the Bournemouth & District Law Society held at the Fitness First Stadium this afternoon. He welcomed the guest speaker, Law Society Chief Executive, Des Hudson, who took part in a discussion session with 100 local Solicitors ranging from changes allowing Solicitors to be in partnership with other allied professions and permitting outside investment in law firms. Mr O'Sullivan commented that the local Law Society is committed to the very highest professional standards and said that there is no case for "justice on the cheap" and Solicitors must, he said, be allowed to continue to prosecute, give legal advice in the Magistrates Court and to represent the vulnerable.  (27410)
