Mediation

Mediation is currently being encouraged by all the Courts as a resolution to all forms of dispute. A mediator does not make a decision. A mediator helps the parties to each an amicable settlement.

The following is a list of the members of the Bournemouth & District Law Society who are qualified mediators and who offer mediation services. You may contact them per their contact details to ascertain further information.

The list is divided into two areas:-

  • Family law mediators who help to resolve family disputes. Not only divorce but perhaps inheritance aspects and issues over access or payments of children. Please understand that these are not counsellors and there needs to be a clear area of dispute before the matter is referred to a mediator

  • Any other type of civil dispute, but particularly business disputes or disputes relating to some form of litigation that is going before the Courts or is likely to go before the Courts. Whilst it is not essential to have a mediator who has knowledge and experience in the field in which you are seeking a mediation, it can often be helpful.
