MAGIC OF THE OPERA featuring lesley garrett

TUESDAY 12 SEPTEMBER 2017 AT BOURNEMOUTH PAVILION THEATRE

COST: £42.25   TIME: 7.30 PM

Inspired by our wonderful singers, “The Singing Waiters” at the Annual Dinner in March, our president Carol Maunder has booked for the BDLS to go to the opera or, to be more precise, we are going to see 'Opera's Greatest Hits!'

If you have never experienced opera before, then this is the perfect introduction to a memorable selection of the most popular and famous arias. If you are a fan of opera already then it's a great opportunity to revisit and enjoy old favourites performed by outstanding singers

Magic of the Opera is a show for all the family and will feature all the best bits from all the best Operas, including many that that everybody knows but probably don’t realise are Opera.  Whether they are a lover of Grand Opera or a lover of grand songs performed to the highest possible level, everyone will enjoy an evening of magical music.  The show will contain favourites including the Toreador song from Carmen, Mozart’s Marriage Of Figaro, Time To Say Goodbye, Verdi’s Anvil Chorus, the Pearl Fishers duet, Ave Maria and, of course, Nessun Dorma.

This will be an experience to remember for those who’ve already been to one of the great Opera Houses of the World, for anyone whose experience of Opera is limited to what they’ve heard on a television advert and for everyone in between.  Lesley Garrett is one of Britain’s best loved singers, well known for her Operatic, Musical Theatre and Television appearances.

The show, which features the English National Philharmonic Orchestra and principal singers from the Royal Opera House and English National Opera, is presented by newly formed Nottingham Theatre Production Company - UK Theatre Bureau.  The Orchestra will be conducted by Ben Crick and the singers will include John Cunningham (Baritone), Hannah Mason (Mezzo Soprano) and Lee Bradley (Tenor).

There are only a limited amount of tickets so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The final date for ticket sales is 4 August 2017
